Howth is an excellent spot to visit and is a good little escape proper spending time in Dublin City. Found only 9 miles from town centre, it requires about 25 minutes to get at by Dart (Dublins electric train system). The Guinness and the craic is excellent. For anybody looking for non-pub related activities there's plenty to do in Howth. If you prefer golf, Deerpark Hotel has 2 18-hole public golf courses on its grounds, as well as a par 3 course.
